Help Your own Immune System
People can get sick all year round, but the winter time seems to be an specifically hard time of year for the immune system. There may be a reason that the winter season is dubbed “flu season.” The colder weather, the harsher conditions-they all help with a weakened immune system. It’s tough to protect against a flu when you’re struggling to stay warm. The loss of access to fresh air and being compelled to spend nearly all of your time indoors where it is stuffy can make it very difficult for your body to keep a cold from setting in. Cold and flu germs apparently breed more quickly in a house that keeps the windows closed all the time. Here are some things you can do to improve your immune system.
Regular physical exercise is essential. Regular and reliable physical exercise can make you sweat and raise your endorphin levels. Not only will it help you stay healthy and regulate your weight, getting regular exercise will make your immune system stronger too. The endorphins that will run through one’s body won’t just help raise your mood during the colder and darker winter months. They help your immune system stay energized and that makes it easier to keep infections from setting in. There were scientific tests done that declare people who exercise five out of seven days a week take half as much sick time as people who don’t get that same level of exercise in the winter.
Get a rub down. There are wide ranging reasons to pamper yourself and treat yourself to a “spa day.” Swedish therapeutic massage, specifically, has been verified to help the body fight off illnesses. Massages will help raise your blood circulation and will stimulate the cells that are most beneficial in keeping cold and flu germs from infecting the body. If you need help with relaxing this sort of rub down is also very helpful. When you don’t have a bunch of anxiety weighing you down, it is easier do to all sorts of things!
During “flu season” you may be tempted to lock yourself away from the world. The less time spent with other folks, the more unlikely you will be to come into contact with something that can make you sick, right? That is, theoretically, the truth. It is also correct that social interaction with pals elevates your spirits. There is not any scientific proof as to why the immune system functions better when you’re happy, but it does. Afternoons of laughter, friendship and fun are generally essential for your wellbeing! Don’t keep away from your friends. There are all kinds of things which can be done to fight off colds, flues and other illnesses but nothing can compare to the boost your immune system receives when you are having fun with your friends and are happy.
Keeping healthy during the winter season doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, some of the items that you might be tempted to avoid will be the very things that help you stay healthy. Obviously, before you get all gung ho and attempt something brand-new, you should talk to your doctor. Your doctor might have some unexpected suggestions for helping you fight off the flu during “flu season.”
